CORRICENDUM

Sub: Issue of Notification as per the New Industrial Policy 2001-2006.
Ref: 1. Goverment Order  No. CI 167 SPI 2001 (P), dated: 30/6/2001.
2. Proceedings of the meeting held on 9th Nov. 2001 and 28th Jan 2002.

Certain reliefs for revival/rehabilitation of sick industries were announced in Industrial Policy dated under Ref-1. while issuing the Government Order in Para 7 (i) the work "Medium Scale" has been inadvertently included. Finance Department had also suggested deleting the provisions pertaining to ST benefits and had agreed to issue separate notifications to extend these benefits in lieu of the provisions made in the Industrial Policy document. The following modifications are deemed to have been incorporated from the date of issue of said Government Order cited under Ref-1 in Annexure-B.

Para 7-1 shall be deleted and the following Para shall deemed to have been substitued:-

For Small Scale Industries:

  • To continue the existing margin money scheme as spelt cut in Government Order No. CI 12 PUM 93, dt: 26th dec. 1996.
  • KPTCL will not charge fixed charges/deemed charges during closure period.
  • Arrears of energy bills to KPTCL to be repaid in 6 half-yearly installments and interest charges for defaults would be reduced to ½% per month.
  • KPTCL not to calculate interest for the closure period.

    Para 7.II shall be deleted and the following Para shall deemed to have been substituted- For BIFR Cases:-

  • KPTCL will not levy fixed charges/demand charges during closure period.
  • Arrears of energy bills to KPTCL to be repaid in 6 half-yearly installments and interest charges for defaults would be reduced to ½% per month.
  • KPTCL not to calculate interest for the closure period.
  • All other benefits/incentives as per the Order No. CI 26 BIFR 95, dated 19th Nov. 1997 will continue to be available.

Finance Department will issue separate notifications in lieu of the deletions made in the Industrial Policy and also lay down procedures for availing the benefits. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Dept. Vide U.O.Note No. FD 442 Exp-I 2002, dt: 8th Feb 2002.
