KARNATAKA UDYOG MITRA is a ‘single contact point’ for all investors who are looking at setting up businesses in Karnataka. As the nodal agency, our role is to facilitate investments and execute initiatives to enable a smooth transition, from receiving an investment proposal to the eventual implementation of the project.

Karnataka Udyog Mitra is "Single Point Contact" for all Investors. It is the investment promotion and facilitation agency of the State Government.

What are our initiatives?
  • Disseminate information through print and electronic media. Create and accelerate industrial tempo.
  • Identify and encourage prospective investors.
  • Provide information to investors and entrepreneurs on the opportunities available in Karnataka for industry, trade and commerce.
  • Function as the Secretariat for the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee.
  • Publish data in the form of papers, case studies, reports, brochures, pamphlets, periodicals, digests, journals, project reports, profiles and magazines.
  • Organize, sponsor, associate and participate in trade fairs, exhibitions and events to promote investments in Karnataka.

What is the road map to follow - so that YOU can plan and get ahead?
  • Prepare an investment outlay above IRN 3 crores or USD 0.7 million.
  • Contact KARNATAKA UDYOG MITRA at www. kumbangalore.com.
  • Discuss and deliberate on suitable location and finalize.
  • File your application directly or through e-form from out website with the relevant Project Report.
  • Appear before the Single Window committee for approvals and sanction of facilities.
  • Apply for allotment of land and all statutory registrations and clearances through KARNATAKA UDYOG MITRA.
  • Implement your project.

Are escort services provided by KUM?
Yes. We assist you in selecting suitable location for the project and give the latest information on availability of land in various industrial areas of the Government.

Is there a single window clearance mechanism for project proposals in Karnataka?
Projects with investments between INR 3 to 50 crores, will be cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC), chaired by the Principal Secretary, Dept. of Commerce and Industries.
If the investment is more than INR 50 crores, it will be cleared by the State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Govt. of Karnataka.

Yes.

When will you get your project clearance letter?
  • 15 days from the date of the SLSWCC meeting from KUM.
  • Within 15 days from the date of the SHLCC meeting from Principal Secretary, C & I Dept.

Will you assist me in obtaining me clearances/approvals from other regulatory agencies?
Yes. A combined application form (CAF) is available and the same can be submitted by you to KUM, which will be forwarded to concerned agencies.
